A Strange FA Cup Defeat!

On 27 January 2008 Manchester City were knocked out of the FA Cup at Sheffield United in unusual circumstances. It was a difficult time for the Blues and you can read about the game here:

Petrov and Ireland

On this day (24 November) in 2007 Martin Petrov (11 mins) and Stephen Ireland gave Manchester City a 2-1 victory over Reading.  Ireland’s goal came in the last minute of the game. You can see highlights of the game here:

On This Day: Elano Wonder Goal

On this day (29 September) in 2007 goals from Petrov (38 mins), Mpenza (47) and Elano (87) helped Manchester City to a 3-1 victory over Newcastle United.  Elano’s goal came from a truly outstanding free kick and was his first goal for the club. You can see highlights of the game here:
